WHAT IS CORNHOLE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cornhole is a game in which players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform board with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the board scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches or exceeds the score of 21. Cornhole is played as singles or doubles. The game dates back as far as the late 1800\u2019s and through the years variations of the game have been played like Bean Bag Toss Game, Horseshoes, Bull\u2019s Eye and Bags. Most people play at the cottage or tailgating outside a local sports venue.<\/p>

WHO IS CORNHOLE CANADA?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cornhole Canada was established in 2019 to provide athletes a structured environment for all ages and all levels of play. They govern, sanction and standardize the sport, a registered not for profit organization with the Canadian government and the official sanctioning body for the sport in Canada.<\/p>

WHO IS CANADIAN CORNHOLE LEAGUES?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Canadian Cornhole Leagues was established to grow the game of Cornhole in Canada, will market and promote all leagues in Canada under the jurisdiction of Cornhole Canada and will also keep you up to date on seasons, tournaments and important announcements.<\/p>\n

WHO ARE JEFF HALCOVITCH AND JIM DODGE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The league got started out like many other grass roots clubs do, by a group of neighbors playing on weekends over a few pints. The core group of six had jokingly talked about putting something together and finally Jeff and Jim decided it was time to give it a go. It was a team effort with lots of support from their better halves, who helped with designing the logo, creating a Facebook page, websites, etc.<\/p>\n

Jeff and Jim approached a local brewery in St. Thomas with the plan to start a league and they were thrilled to partner. The league started in November of 2020 and continued playing right up until the Christmas holiday. And now with lockdown, sadly like everyone else, we are anxious to get back throwing bags.<\/p>\n

Our goal for 2021 is to grow the club and find an indoor space large enough to host a weekly league. We are excited to join the Cornhole Canada and look forward to meeting and playing other clubs.<\/p>\n
